Will Happy Clapper Take Advantage Of Gate One To Win Doncaster?

Happy Clapper drew gate one on Tuesday increasing his chances of winning the Doncaster Mile race. According to part Webster, people who think that the barriers do not count are wrong since it plays a vital role in determining how a rider performs in the race. According to him, Happy Clapper’s performance in the Saturday’s Doncaster Mile will be influenced by the fact that he has been drawn to start from gate one. Last year, he drew two and managed to finish in the second position.
Webster said that Happy Clapper is a lucky horse who has on many occasions drew gate one or two. In the Epsom, he drew gate one but did not have luck as he managed to finish fourth. A few years ago, he drew gate one in the Queen Elizabeth race and finished third. In the Canterbury Stakes, he had gate one and finished first in the race. The horse has had barrier one and two on several occasions which helped him win four of his ten wins. In the Doncaster race, happy Clapper is rated $5 with Kementari is rated the favorite $3.50.
Meanwhile, Godolphin team came back from the World Cup meeting and was delighted that their star colt had a good draw. The team is hoping that they will continue their success after Thunder Snow claimed third group ones win on Saturday. Vin Cox managed to pick barrier2 for the 51.5 kg colt. Cox said that he had done his job and was looking upon their Jockey Avdullah and trainer James Cummings to do their job. He said that he was glad that they were happy with gate two and they would have a chance to see what Happy Clapper who secured gate one will be doing.
Kamentari is already looking forward to keeping his unbeaten Randwick record when he contests Doncaster. Kamentari chased the world top horse Winx as she pursued her 24th consecutive win a few weeks ago. Webster said that he does not see how Clapper can beat Kementari. Even though he acknowledged that Happy Clapper has participated in the 1600m race six times and managed to win the Villiers Stakes in 2015 but finished in the fourth position in the 2016 Epson. He came second to Winx in the Doncaster. In the last year’s George Main Stakes, he came second again behind the mare Winix.
